1.  "Free to be Me"

The inspiration for this painting is what we all long for: to "Be Free" (Isaiah 49:9)
These words are printed in white in the lower right front corner of the print (not shown here).
White watermark: Her Cindyness copyright Cynthia K. Stiverson WILL NOT APPEAR on print.
An Original Word-Block  is beautifully attached to the back of this print with photo corners and reads:

"buried beneath the debris and demands of life, your true self awaits. hurting. yearning. longing to emerge from the ashes; to become the unique person God created in your mother's womb; to fully embrace your destiny.
Jesus is pleading, "Come out. Be healed. Be free!"

MAT CHOICES FOR "Free to be Me":  Navy, Ivory, Brown, Bright Yellow, Golden Yellow, Metallic Gold

2. "A Question of Sin"
The subject of this painting is the woman caught in the act of adultery in John Chapter 8 of the Bible. This story came to life as I painted:  the accusers in the background, the light of God setting her on a new course, and the stones becoming a monument of where she had met with God. The story still comes to life today, with the oppression of women in many countries, with our quick judgement of others; and in recent news, the case of an Iranian woman taken to trial and threatened to be stoned. This painting is a beautiful reminder that we were created equal and can all be forgiven.

Scripture is printed on upper center front of print:
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
~John 8:12
The title, artist info, and this original Word Block are printed and beautifully attached on back of print:
"she was accused: caught in the act of adultery. robed in the scarlet letter. shame was her companion. she was silent before her accusers. they pressed in around her, hearts as hard as the stones in hand. poised to punish. to kill. jesus disarmed them with a question of sin: "if any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." saving words. forgiving words. hope for a new life. john 8:7
we are guilty. accused. ashamed. quick to judge. to throw stones. jesus forgives. forgets. saves. gives hope. he knows us by name. jesus has the last word, the final say: "go now and leave your life of sin."

MAT CHOICES FOR "A QUESTION OF SIN":  Golden Yellow (shown), Yellow, Red, Navy, Federal Blue, Ivory

3. "An Issue of Blood"
This painting depicts the woman who touched the hem of Jesus' garment and was healed.
Scripture on front: "Your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."~Mark 5:24

My original Word Block is attached on back:
"she had 'an issue of blood'. sick. unclean. she had consulted every doctor. no one could heal her. no one could help. she had no hope until she reached out in faith and touched the hem of jesus garment. she was set free.
we have an issue of blood. we need a divine blood transfusion. only the blood of jesus christ can heal us, cleanse us, set us free."

MAT CHOICES, "AN ISSUE OF BLOOD":  Purple(shown), Yellow, Golden Yellow, Pink, Brown, Ivory

4. "Living Water"

Living Water is a depiction of the Woman at the Well who met Jesus (aka: The Samaritan Woman). But like the word block on the back says: "she could be your neighbor, your mother, your daughter, your friend...she could be you"

Scripture added at center top reads:
"Whoever drinks the water I give will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give will become...a spring of water welling up to eternal life."  ~John 4:14(NIV)
White watermark "Her Cindyness Copyright Cynthia K. Stiverson will NOT Appear on painting.

It is backed with my personal info and this original word block:
"she walked a lonely path. vulnerable. used. abused. tossed aside. longing for someone who would look beyond the surface. see her hurting heart. love her for who she was. she was the woman at the well but she could be your neighbor, your mother, your daughter, your friend...she could be you.
jesus knows everything about us and loves us just as we are. loves us so much that he doesn't leave us the way he finds us. washes away the shame of our past. leaves us with a testimony:
'come, meet a man who told me everything i ever did."

5. "Be Still"
A miracle in the waiting!
We all know what it is to be held in suspense of what the future holds. This cocoon, waiting to burst forth in new life, may reflect how you or someone you love is feeling.
Print is shown matted and also as notecard with these words in soft gray:
"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10a

It is backed with my personal info, painting title, and this original word block:
"stuck. afraid to go back. unable to move ahead. cocooned. marooned. dormant. hemmed in. no visible means of escape. we've all been there. Jesus has been there too. suspended in time; in tension between the past and the future; a passageway between death and life. he is our safe place. our cocoon. he wraps us in his presence. transforms us with his love."

MAT CHOICES FOR "BE STILL":  Dark Brown (shown), Medium Brown, Dark Grey, Light Gray, Dark Blue, Metallic Silver

6. "Just Knock"

This little girl may be just the person to communicate love to you or to someone you know!
"Just Knock" features the frail child within, in search of hope, of being heard.

Front is signed and printed in white with Matthew 7:7 at top: "...Knock and the door will be opened to you..."
White watermark with copyright will NOT be on print
My personal info, painting title, and this original work block are printed and mounted on back:
"I was alone in my suffering. no one came to my rescue. i cried but there were no tears. I opened my mouth to scream but there was no sound. like a rag doll, I was tossed aside.
though I couldn't see him, Jesus was there. he heard my silent screams for help. he saw the unformed tears in my eyes. he promises to never leave me. never forsake me. to answer the door when we knock..."just knock"

Scripture printed on lower front: "...if it dies, it produces many seeds." John 12:24b
White Watermark with copyright will not appear on cards.
Notecard front shown above. This print is also shown matted below, right.
Drawing title, artist logo, and this original wordblock enhance the back:

"setting goals? climbing the ladder of success? striving to satisfy longings of the heart? unsettled. anxious. exhausted.
surrender. simplify. relax. dream. make a wish. breathe deeply. blow softly. scatter seeds of faith and watch them grow."
