"She Brings Home the Bacon!"
Woven Leader Kathleen Benis
“She makes belted linen garments and sashes
to sell to the merchants.”
What a sensible girl! She, like the woman of this century, has prudent management skills. I feel like singing “She can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan”.
An amazing kind of concern flows out of a woman's heart for her family. We are constantly planning a way to nurture our loved ones and make ends meet in this tough economy. As we juggle all this responsibility, it can get away from us. We begin to carry so much, we get use to the weight and don't recognize the effect it has on our lives. We begin to unravel. We experience frustration. We are tormented by thoughts of being a failure. Don't allow yourself to spiral downward in self-contempt and shame. Get to a quiet place and seek God.
We must set aside time to keep company with God. The one who knows you best and loves you most. He will restore you. He will balance your best-laid plans. He will remind you of John 16:33: “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I am your overcomer”!
Allow Him to fill you deeply with His rest. Then go and nurture you. Take a bubble bath. A walk in the park. Have coffee with a friend. Then you will feel refreshed. Ready to continue on your journey to become the woman Jesus created you to be. Lookin' good in your belts and sashes!
"I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure" (Psalm 16:8-9).
Kathleen's husband Larry has given her 31years of happiness and now a beautiful home in Newark, Ohio, near their son Nathan and daughter-in-"love" Michelle.
